In this on-demand webcast Alan Saunders and Pete Southwood will show you how AutoCAD® Map 3D is a better AutoCAD for utilities with tools that help you clean up and classify data from multiple sources to create basemaps, easily standardize data, reduce drafting time with simplified workflows, build intelligence (feature classes and attributes) into the object during the design process, and facilitate easy movement of design data into records (GIS).
Also in this session you will see a preview of other Autodesk Utility Solutions that help to ensure engineering design accuracy and standardization, as well as solutions that help to better manage as-builts, provide accurate asset information to the field, and a consolidated view of utility assets.

Alan Saunders is the industry principal for the Autodesk utilities vertical. He is responsible for Autodesk's global utility solution strategies, alliances, and business development. Alan has over 25 years experience in the international energy and utilities business including 15+ years direct experience at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Alan has experience leading successful initiatives in utility distribution planning and operations, customer service, energy trading and marketing, business development, and solution strategy and delivery.
Pete Southwood
Geospatial Technical Evangelist

Peter Southwood is a Geospatial Technical Evangelist for Autodesk's Geospatial Solutions, specializing in GIS, web and mobile applications. Prior to his current position, Peter was the lead GIS Sales Engineer for Autodesk Asia Pacific. Before joining Autodesk, Peter was with Graphic Data Systems (GDS) where he was the primary technical lead in the workstation GIS and PC based CAD solutions group. At GDS, Peter also held a senior account management position. Since 1982 Peter has been working in the CAD/GIS industry, including CAD system management positions with some of the premier architectural practices in the United Kingdom.
