ABSTRACT:
As companies look for ways to cut costs, improve profits and meet an ever-growing list of compliance initiatives, businesses have reached the "age of accountability" where direct oversight for data usage, quality, privacy and security is now the norm. This new paradigm puts pressure on the business to enact technologies, policies and processes to ensure that data is accurate and reliable, regardless of the originating application or system. This monograph by Philip Russom of TDWI examines the four requirements to increasing the maturity of data governance initiatives - and how these efforts can help companies effectively maintain and manage their mission-critical data.
